The EZ-XVR1B16 completes the EZ-IP XVR1B series channel range: 4 channels (XVR1B04), 8 channels (XVR1B08), and 16 channels (XVR1B16), all at 5MP recording resolution and the same EZ-IP budget specification. The 16-channel version is for installations requiring a larger number of cameras than the 8-channel model supports, where the budget EZ-IP specification meets the system requirements.
At 5MP, the EZ-XVR1B16 records standard EZ-IP cameras (such as the EZ-HCC-T359A) at their full 5MP output. Installations using 8MP cameras (EZ-HCC-T389A) would be limited to 5MP recording on this DVR, making the EZ-XVR2C16-4KL (16-channel 8MP) the more appropriate specification for those cameras.
The EZ-IP budget tier means no WizSense AI analytics: the DVR provides core recording, playback, and remote viewing without human and vehicle detection alerts. For 16-channel installations requiring WizSense AI, the Dahua DH-XVR5216A-I3 is the main-range alternative.
No hard drive is included. For 16 cameras, a 4TB or 8TB surveillance HDD is recommended depending on the required recording retention period.
