Product DescriptionProduct Details & Description

RG59+2 composite shotgun cable is the standard cable type for analogue CCTV camera installations, carrying both the coaxial video signal and the 12V DC camera power supply in a single integrated cable body. The shotgun format means the coaxial and power sections run side by side, held together but separable at the camera and DVR ends for individual connection to the BNC and DC terminals.

Full copper construction is a critical specification detail that distinguishes this cable from lower-cost alternatives that use copper-clad aluminium (CCA) for the coaxial centre conductor and braid. Full copper provides lower electrical resistance along the length of the cable, which directly affects both the video signal quality at the far end of a long camera run and the voltage drop across the power conductors when the camera draws its operating current.

On a 100-metre camera run, the difference between full copper and CCA in power voltage drop can be the difference between a camera operating correctly and a camera that is underpowered and producing a degraded image or failing to operate reliably. For installers specifying reliable long-run CCTV infrastructure, full copper is the correct material specification.

The 100-metre drum provides a complete camera run length plus a working margin, making it the practical purchasing unit for single camera runs across larger properties in London and the UK.
