The EZ-NVR1D08HS-8P doubles the channel count of the 4-channel EZ-NVR1D04HS-P for installations requiring five to eight IP cameras. Eight built-in PoE ports provide direct camera connection without a separate PoE switch for all eight channels.
The specification is otherwise identical to the 4-channel version: 12MP maximum recording resolution, EZ-IP budget tier, PoE-integrated switch, no HDD included, and core NVR recording and remote viewing functionality without AI analytics.
8 channels covers the majority of small and medium residential and commercial IP camera installations: a typical mid-sized commercial premises or larger residential property with perimeter, entrance, and interior cameras typically requires between 4 and 12 cameras, making the 8-channel NVR the most common first specification for IP camera systems.
For IP camera installations where AI detection or more advanced video analytics are required, the main-range Dahua NVR series (NVR4104HS or NVR5216 from a previous batch) provides the upgraded specification with Dahua’s full feature set.
A surveillance-rated hard drive should be specified separately. For 8 IP cameras at 12MP resolution, the storage requirement is substantially higher than for analogue cameras: a 4TB or 8TB surveillance HDD is recommended depending on required retention days.
