Dahua DH-SD5A225GB-HNR 2MP Starlight WizSense IP PTZ 25x Zoom Auto Tracking

Auto-tracking PTZ cameras automatically detect and follow subjects in motion, eliminating the need for manual PTZ control by an operator. When the WizSense AI detects a human or vehicle in the camera’s view, the PTZ mechanism pans, tilts, and zooms to keep the detected subject in the centre of the frame as it moves, providing continuous close-up coverage of the subject without human intervention.

This is a significant functional advance over manual PTZ control (where an operator must actively drive the camera to follow subjects) and over fixed cameras (which have a single static view). Auto-tracking PTZ cameras function effectively in unmanned monitoring installations where there is no dedicated operator watching the live feed.

The WizSense AI provides the classification layer that distinguishes genuine auto-track targets (humans and vehicles) from spurious movement triggers (animals, vegetation, wind-blown objects), reducing unnecessary camera movement and maintaining useful subject tracking.

The 2MP Starlight sensor provides colour imaging in near-dark conditions, and the 25x optical zoom (approximately 4.8-120mm) provides detailed close-up footage of subjects at significant distances: at 25x zoom, a subject 50 metres away fills the same proportion of the frame as a subject 2 metres away at wide angle.

This camera is functionally distinct from the HDCVI PTZ SD49225-HC-LA (batch 11): the SD49225 is an HDCVI analogue PTZ for DVR systems without auto-tracking; the SD5A225GB-HNR is an IP network PTZ for NVR systems with WizSense AI auto-tracking.
