The Transmitter solves a fundamental integration challenge in wireless alarm system installations: the vast majority of alarm detectors and sensors available in the market are wired products, and many properties that are upgrading to Ajax have existing hardwired detection that the client wants to retain.
The Transmitter provides wired input terminals for connecting alarm device output contacts, converting the status of those wired contacts into Ajax wireless zone signals. An existing hardwired passive infrared detector, magnetic door contact, flood detector, or any other device with a volt-free output contact can connect to the Transmitter and appear in the Ajax hub as a standard detector zone, with all the app monitoring, history logging, and alarm management functions of a native Ajax device.
This integration capability means that an Ajax system upgrade does not require every detector to be replaced with an Ajax wireless equivalent. The Transmitter handles the bridging between legacy wired devices and the Ajax platform, reducing the cost of a system upgrade and allowing specialist wired devices without Ajax equivalents to be retained.
The Transmitter itself is a wireless device on the Ajax Jeweller network, communicating its zone status to the hub without a cable to the hub position.
