A recessing bracket repositions the mounting ears of a 1U device away from the front rack rail position. The 100mm bracket is the deeper of the two available recessing options in this range (the alternative is the 50mm version), moving the equipment 100mm back from the standard front-rail mounting position.
This depth offset is used in several installation scenarios: when the equipment’s rear cables are long and need to be managed behind the front rails; when a cable management unit at the front of the cabinet needs clearance in front of the equipment; when the front panel of the equipment protrudes forward and would interfere with the cabinet door at standard mounting depth; and when a mix of equipment depths in the cabinet requires specific items to be recessed to maintain a flush front appearance.
Standard 1U rack equipment typically mounts at the front of the rack rails. The recessing bracket is an optional addition for specific situations where the standard mounting position is not appropriate.
The distinction from the 50mm bracket is simply the recess depth: the 100mm bracket moves the equipment twice as far from the front rail as the 50mm version. The correct choice depends on the specific clearance requirement at the installation.
