Haydon 9-Way CCTV Multi Power Box 5A 12V for Multiple Camera Distribution

Multi-camera power distribution boxes are the standard professional approach to powering CCTV camera installations with four or more cameras. Rather than individual power supplies per camera or per small group, the installer runs one mains feed to the centralised power box (located with the DVR or in the comms position) and individual 12V DC cables from the box to each camera position.

The 9-way output provides enough channels for installations with up to nine cameras at 12V DC. At 5A total capacity, the box supports camera loads where the total draw across all connected cameras does not exceed 5A. A typical 5MP HDCVI camera draws approximately 400-600mA, so the 5A box can realistically power seven to ten cameras within the current limit depending on the specific camera model.

Individual output channels allow isolated fault-finding: if a camera fails or a cable is shorted, the affected output can be isolated without affecting the other camera feeds.

The centralised location reduces the number of mains connections required in the installation and allows the installer to manage power from a single accessible point.

For larger installations beyond the 9-way 5A capacity, a rack-mounted or higher-current multi-output PSU is specified. For smaller systems with two to four cameras, the STP 3A single PSU is the more compact option.
