Product Features:

A 2MP-rated passive video balun for transmitting 1080P Full HD analogue CCTV video over Cat5/6 UTP cable. For installations using 2MP/1080P cameras where 4K-rated baluns are not required, this balun provides the UTP video transmission at the lower resolution rating with a cost advantage over the 4K specification.

Product DescriptionProduct Details & Description

Video baluns are available in different resolution ratings to match the camera specification of the installation. A 2MP-rated balun is the correct specification for systems using 1080P Full HD cameras: it transmits the video signal at the resolution the cameras produce without the cost premium of a 4K-rated balun where 4K cameras are not installed.

Specifying the balun to the resolution of the cameras rather than over-specifying to a higher rating is a standard cost-management practice in CCTV installation. For a large installation with many camera runs using 1080P cameras, the aggregate cost saving from using 2MP baluns instead of 4K baluns across all runs can be significant.

The passive construction requires no power supply at either end: the balun simply converts the signal impedance at the camera end and at the DVR end without any active electronics. This keeps the installation straightforward and removes any power supply requirement at the balun location.

For CCTV installations using 1080P analogue cameras on Cat5/6 infrastructure across London and the UK, the 2MP passive video balun provides the appropriate-specification UTP transmitter at the correct resolution rating for the camera system being installed.
