Product DescriptionProduct Details & Description

An RJ45 coupler is used to join two patch cables together when the required cable run is longer than the available cable and a single longer cable is not available. The coupler provides a quick-connect join between two cable segments.

Common practical uses include: extending a patch cable to reach a position that is slightly beyond the cable's length, joining two cables during installation when a new cable is not yet available, and providing a permanent join point in a cable run where an extension is added to an existing cable.

The coupler introduces a small additional point of contact in the cable run, which has a negligible impact on signal quality at Gigabit Ethernet speeds over short total cable lengths. For permanent installations where signal integrity is critical, a single continuous cable or a properly terminated structured cabling run with two patch cords is preferable to a coupler join.

For temporary connections, commissioning, and situations where a quick cable extension is needed, the RJ45 coupler provides the instant inline joining solution.
