The LR1002 converter pair solves a common upgrade problem: buildings with existing analogue CCTV coaxial cable that the owner wishes to upgrade to IP cameras without running new Cat5e/Cat6 cable. Rather than re-cabling, the LR1002 pair is installed at each camera position: the transmitter at the DVR/NVR end connects to the ePoE switch, and the receiver at the camera end connects to the IP camera, with the existing coax cable between them carrying both power and IP data.
Dahua’s ePoE technology extends standard PoE transmission to much longer distances than regular Cat5e PoE: over coaxial cable the ePoE signal maintains IP connectivity at distances up to 800 metres in ePoE mode, significantly beyond the 100-metre standard PoE Cat cable limit.
The pair is supplied as transmitter and receiver together, providing the two-device combination needed for a single camera position upgrade. Additional pairs are purchased for each additional camera run.
This is a fundamentally different product from the Haydon PoC balun (HAY-HDVB01POC-PT, batch 11): the PoC balun is for HDCVI (analogue) cameras with Power over Coax technology, converting analogue HDCVI over Cat5e cable. The LR1002 is for IP cameras, converting IP Ethernet data over existing coaxial cable.
For CCTV upgrade installers converting existing coax infrastructure to IP camera operation across London and the UK, the Dahua LR1002 provides the ePoE over coax converter pair for each camera run.
Key Features
- Dahua LR1002 ePoE over coax converter pair: transmitter and receiver included
- Run IP cameras over existing RG59 coaxial cable without new Cat5e cable
- ePoE over coax: extends IP connection to 800m on coaxial cable
- Carries both IP video and PoE camera power over the coax run
- One pair per camera run: purchase additional pairs for multiple cameras
- Different from PoC balun: LR1002 is for IP cameras; PoC balun is for HDCVI analogue
