Penta-brid means the DVR supports five types of camera input on its analogue channels: Dahua’s own HDCVI, AHD, TVI, standard CVBS analogue, and IP cameras via additional virtual channels. This makes it compatible with any analogue HD camera standard as well as IP cameras in a hybrid installation.
WizSense is Dahua’s AI detection technology built into the DVR’s analogue channels: the DVR analyses incoming camera streams to detect human figures and vehicles, and generates alerts only for these subjects. This dramatically reduces false alarms from environmental triggers (animals, vegetation movement, lighting changes) that cause constant nuisance alerts in non-AI systems.
Eight analogue channels (expandable to 12 total with 4 IP channels) is appropriate for small to medium commercial and residential CCTV installations. The main-range XVR5108HE-I2 with WizSense is a step up from budget EZ-IP DVRs (also in this batch) in features, detection capability, and Dahua product support tier.
The DVR is supplied without a hard drive (No HDD): the appropriate drive specification is a Seagate Skyhawk or Western Digital Purple surveillance-rated hard drive, sized according to the required recording days at the configured camera resolution and frame rate.
